Wat Si Chum

Description
Wat Si Chum in Sukhothai is home to the giant Buddha. The legend says that King Naresuan (1555-1605) set up camp at the temple before fighting the Burmese over the control of the Siam Kingdom. One of the king’s soldiers made a speech to boost the troops, hidden behind Buddha, giving the statue the nickname “speaking Buddha”.
